A student society of Izmir Institute of Technology

From IZTECH to the international robot arena.

We design and build our robots ourselves. Our first goal: the 1v1 category of the ARC Robotics Championship.

One team bringing mechanics, electronics and software together in a single robot.

IZTECH Robotic Systems is a project and competition focused student society at Izmir Institute of Technology, bringing together students who want to grow in robotics.

Our goal is to represent IZTECH and Türkiye in national and international robotics competitions, to give students hands-on experience in real engineering projects and to build strong ties with industry.

  1. Chassis and suspension

Mecanum wheels let the robot slide in any direction without turning its body; the suspension keeps the wheels in contact with the floor.

  2. Two-axis gimbal

A turret that rotates horizontally and vertically to point the barrel at the target.

  3. Launcher and feeder

Plastic projectiles from the hopper are fed into the barrel and launched.

  4. Armor panels

The panels the opponent tries to hit; the referee system detects every hit on them.

  5. Electronics and software

Motor drivers, power distribution and sensors, plus the control and computer vision software that drives the robot.

Our first goal

ARC Robotics Championship

ARCC is a North America-based university robot competition that continues the DJI RoboMaster format. Robots launch plastic projectiles from their turrets to hit the opponent’s armor panels, and a referee system detects every hit.

In our first season we will compete in the 1v1 category, where two robots face each other one on one, with our Infantry robot.

Four teams, one robot.

  • TEAM-01

Designs and builds the robot's body: from CAD model to workshop.

    • Chassis and suspension
    • Gimbal and launcher
    • Armor panels
    • CAD and manufacturing
  • TEAM-02

Writes the code that decides how the robot moves and what it aims at.

    • Robot control software
    • Computer vision
    • System architecture
  • TEAM-03

Builds the circuits that carry power and commands to the motors, and wires up the sensors.
